Does Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion also help with vaginal yeast infections?

Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion is intended for daily use for intimate hygiene and cannot replace drug therapy. If you have a yeast infection, please consult your doctor or pharmacist. Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion can continuously be used to cleanse the external genital area – like a shower gel – during treatment for a yeast infection.

Is Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion suitable for men as well?

Yes. Men also enjoy its pleasant freshness and gentle cleansing.

I often have an allergic reaction to many ingredients in cosmetics. Can I use Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion?

Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion is generally very well tolerated. However, there is no guarantee against the possibility of adverse reactions in isolated cases. In order to determine whether you can tolerate Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion, you must test the product first. Naturally, you should not use the product if you have a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Compare the ingredients of Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion with your list of known allergies.

How should I use Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion?

Use like a shower gel or wash lotion:
Rinse the area first, then apply a peanut-sized amount of Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion directly into your hand, or onto a damp flannel or disposable washcloth and apply to the external vaginal area. Then rinse off.
If using cotton flannels, these should be washed regularly in hot water (60° C). In case of the presence of vaginal infection, use the cotton flannel once only and then wash before using again.

Can Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion be applied undiluted and left on the skin?

No. It is a wash lotion which must always be rinsed off after it is applied.

Can Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion also be used on children?

Yes. It is a mild and very well tolerated wash lotion.

Is it necessary to match the pH level of an intimate wash lotion to the age of the woman?

No. Whilst studies show that the pH of the skin (in the external intimate area as well) is about 5 in younger women and increases with age, a higher pH value reduces the skin's ability to fight bacteria. Therefore, skin cleansing and skin care products (also for the external intimate area) – for younger and for older individuals – should have a pH of around 5 (not higher) to prevent alkalising the skin and to maintain its natural acid mantle.

I am always getting yeast infections and would like to do something to prevent them. Will Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion help me with that?

There are many different causes for recurrent vaginal yeast infections. Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion alone cannot prevent yeast infections. But since one of the possible factors that contribute towards vaginal yeast infections is insufficient intimate hygiene, the regular use of Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion can support your body’s natural defences. Many users report that they develop yeast infections less frequently since using Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion.

Are there studies on the use of Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion?

A usage study was carried out for this product. Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion was predominantly rated good or very good by the testers in regards to tolerance and product efficacy.
